Share Pain; Share Comfort

When someone is in pain, we are scared to get to close to their pain. We offer, “Let me know if there is anything I can do.” but we know that they are never going to ask. We think we have done our part and escape without having to feel their pain.
Yet the law of Christ calls us to bear their pain, to join them as Ruth did for Naomi when she said to her:
Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me.
Today’s Risk: Do what Christ did for us, join someone in their pain, share their pain and in doing so you will both find comfort.
